Paul E. Braunlich (1931 - 2016)
Our founding partner, Paul E. Braunlich held a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, and a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1959 and was admitted to the Federal Bar in 1965.
Mr. Braunlich started his private practice in 1959 representing clients in the fields of criminal law, domestic relations, real estate, probate, and in various areas of municipal practice. He represented the City of Monroe then County of Monroe as Legal Advisor from 1964 to 1989. Mr. Braunlich was also the attorney for Village of Dundee, Estral Beach, and Berlin Township from 1970 to 1989. He served as Michigan Public Administrator from 1977 to 1989. In 1989, Mr. Braunlich was appointed District Judge and served in that capacity until 2002. He returned to private practice in 2002 until the time of his death in July 2016.
Paul was the Legal Advisor for Frenchtown Charter Township Resort District Authority and a member of the Monroe County Bar Association, the Exchange Club of Monroe, the American Bar Association, the American Judicature Society, and the Monroe Boat Club. Paul E. Braunlich left behind a profound legal legacy that we are proud to continue in his honor.
J. Henry Lievens
J. Henry Lievens holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan, and a J.D. from the University of Toledo Law School. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 2004.
Currently, Henry is the Chairman of the Monroe County Board of Commissioners, and is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association, the Exchange Club of Monroe, the Monroe Boat Club, the Monroe Rod and Gun Club, the Ottawa Lake Sportsman’s Club, the Bedford Business Association, and the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce.
Henry specializes in criminal law, general civil law, criminal expungements, personal injury, automobile accidents, driver’s license restoration, dog bite cases, divorce/custody/support, probate and estate planning.
Brittany Braunlich holds a B.A. from Michigan State University, and a J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 2013.
Currently, Brittany is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association, and Vice President of Women Empowering Women (Paula’s House).
